Welcoming Chantel McHenry as Interim CEO

Attack Poverty is pleased to announce that Chantel McHenry has been named Interim Chief Executive Officer.

Chantel brings a deep understanding of our mission and the communities we serve. She has helped shape and strengthen our programs, operations, and team culture. Her experience spans both strategic leadership and on the ground execution, giving her a unique ability to lead with clarity, compassion, and effectiveness.

Chantel has contributed to community development efforts across the Houston area, building partnerships and advancing initiatives that support long term neighborhood transformation. She is known for her steady leadership, thoughtful decision making, and commitment to people.

As Interim CEO, Chantel will work closely with the Board and leadership team to ensure continuity across the organization while continuing to move our mission forward. Her focus will be on supporting staff, strengthening programs, and maintaining the operational excellence and stewardship our partners expect.

This leadership transition is a thoughtful and intentional step forward. Our mission remains strong, our work continues, and our commitment to the communities we serve is unchanged.
